Our Coastal Patrol Yorketown Radio Base is operated by one of our Life Members Colin Mason.
Colin has been a been a radio base operator for the Coastal Patrol since the age of 16—when he obtained his Restricted Radio Operator’s Certificate of Proficiency in Radiotelephony.
Over the years, he has also remained dedicated to maintaining licensed marine rescue radio bases within his vehicles.
His commitment has provided essential communication support in areas with limited coverage, particularly during search operations.
Originally the radio base was located at Point Souttar (West of Point Turton) & run by Marg, Brian & Colin but moved to Yorketown after the family sold their farm.
Colin is also an Amateur (Ham) Radio Operator.
