SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MINISTERIAL EMERGENCY SERVICE AWARDS
The 2026 South Australian Ministerial Emergency Service Medal and Commendations ceremony was held yesterday, recognising outstanding service, leadership and meritorious conduct across South Australia’s emergency services sector.
Recipients were presented with the SA Emergency Services Medal, Ministerial Commendations and Citations by Minister for Emergency Services, Rhiannon Pearce MP.
Among this year’s recipients, was Dean Murch from our Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol SA Inc. - Point Turton Division receiving an SA Emergency Services Commendation in recognition of his leadership and ongoing commitment to developing and sustaining marine rescue capability on the Yorke Peninsula.
Congratulations to Dean, and to all of this year’s recipients.
The ceremony was a strong reminder of the dedication, professionalism and countless hours of service contributed by volunteers and emergency service personnel across South Australia in support of their communities.
A very well-deserved recognition of those who continue to give so much in the service of others.
***Our New Tow Vehicle***
The new Ford Ranger Super Duty will serve as the dedicated tow vehicle for our new rescue vessel, which is due to arrive later this year. With a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 kg, it is perfectly suited to the task and will further strengthen our operational capability, ensuring our volunteers have the right equipment to respond safely and effectively whenever they're called upon.
